When I decided to leave full-time advertising while still in Zambia, I knew I had to return to Nigeria. But during my notice period, I couldn't fight the pull to create. I couldn't work on large canvases, and I needed a medium I could carry with me. So I picked up coloured pencils, something I had never used professionally before, and began.
That is how Ohun Ìní: Belongings began. The pieces above are a few from the series. The message and purpose behind the work are far bigger than the medium I started with. Perhaps that is why it could not wait.
Originals and prints will be be available alongside other artworks in both digital and traditional media when the gallery opens.
